Our Heritage History...

Our beautifully restored, two-story salon and spa was built in 1907 by local businessman August Kassebaum. August was a pillar of the Mattese community, opening the first general store on the corner of Butler Hill in 1884, and serving as the first postmaster and county tax collector. He and his wife Catherine, raised eight children in this extraordinary Georgian Revival-style home. It was the first building to have electricity and telephone in the area.

Carrying on August Kassebaum's entreprenurial spirit, today, the Kassebaum House is owned and operated by former St. Louis Blues player Reed Low, and home to the Heritage Salon and Spa family. Our warm and inviting atmosphere is a true oasis in South County with 23 hair stations, six nail stations, four pedi-spas and a full esthetics department. We invite you to experience all of the rejuvenating professional services offered by our friendly and talented Heritage Team.
