WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a new, brow enhancing service that dramatically defines and reconstructs your sparse, thinning or over-tweezed brows. Our Specialist utilizes a new, sterilized microblade to gently etch “hair-like” lines of pigment into your eyebrow area to create fuller, natural -looking brows. Microblading is semi-permanent and less invasive than traditional cosmetic tattooing.
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
Pigment is only deposited in the outer layer of skin. If you choose not to book Touch-Ups, your brows will naturally fade within 18 months. This will vary based on your skin type, age and skincare routine. To maintain your fabulous new brows, a complimentary Follow-Up is offered within the first six weeks. Touch-Ups are recommended every 10-12 weeks.
IS MICROBLADING PAINFUL?
Prior to the service, a topical anesthetic is applied to thoroughly numb the area. It can also be reapplied during the service. The feeling has been described as a *a light cat scratch*. NOTE: Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine and epinephrine.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MICROBLADING?
To reduce sensitivity, refrain from tanning, facial scrubs and chemical peels during the two weeks prior to microblading. Avoid alcohol, aspirin/ibuprofen and blood thinners within 72 hours of your service to minimize risk of bleeding. Arrive wearing your normal brow makeup. Reference pictures of desired brows are always encouraged.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SERVICE?
Your service includes a thorough consultation to gather information about your skincare routine, health history, and anticipated results. Last-minute questions are addressed and a waiver is signed. After a pigment color is chosen, your brows are marked for symmetry and shape, and a topical anesthetic is applied to reduce discomfort. A sterilized microblade is then used to gently etch hair-like lines of pigment into the outer layer of skin creating your new brows. The appointment usually lasts 1 1/2 – 2 hours.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY MICROBLADING SERVICE?
It is normal for the brow area to be reddened, and the pigment to appear VERY DARK. The redness will subside within a few days and the pigment will fade UP TO 40% within a few weeks. For discomfort, clients may take acetaminophen, but NOT aspirin or ibuprofen.
No down time is required after your Microblading service. However, it will take approximately 7-14 DAYS for the brows to heal and 30 DAYS for pigment to settle into the skin. Follow all “Aftercare” instructions provided to you at the end of your appointment. Failure to do so will affect the overall results and void all service guarantees. A Touch-Up session is recommended every 10-12 weeks after your service to refine the shape, and fill-in any areas that have faded.
Note: Microblading is an invasive and semi-permanent service. To achieve the best results, as with tattoo, it is important to research and choose an experienced and certified professional.
